In order to implement the work requirements of the Party and the State and the Department of Physical Education and Arts of the Ministry of Education, focus on deepening the reform of physical education and teaching in colleges and universities, comprehensively improve the quality of personnel training, and aim at the construction of first-class majors, first-class courses and first-class teaching materials in sports colleges and universities across the country.

On January 13th, sponsored by the National College Physical Education Steering Committee and undertaken by our school, the “17th National Symposium of Deans of Physical Education Colleges or Departments in Colleges and Universities” was successfully held at Science Parkof HNU .Professor Hua Yang, Vice Chairman of the National College Physical Education Steering Committee, Professor Wang Jiahong, Head of Technical Discipline Group, Professor Ji Liu, Head of Theoretical Discipline Group, all members, and more than 200 deans from more than 100 colleges and universities all over the country attended the meeting.The meeting was presided over by Professor Ji Liu, Head of Theoretical Discipline Group of the National College Physical Education Steering Committee.

Li Sen, Vice President of our school, gave a speech, welcoming all the famous experts and scholars in the field of sports, and hoped that through thissymposium, we would pass on the classics and give advice for the construction and development of physical education in Hainan Province and the physical education major in our school.

During special report session, Professor Wang Jiahong, Head of Technical Discipline Groupof the National College Physical Education Steering Committee, gave a report entitled “Development of Double First-class Discipline and Construction of Double First-class Physical Education Specialty”;Fan Feng, President of Sports Branch of Higher Education Press, gave a report entitled “Integrating Innovation, Improving Quality and Accelerating the Construction of First-class Sports Courses and Textbooks”.The theme of Professor Ji Liu, Head of Theoretical Discipline Group of the National College Physical Education Steering Committee,is “Achievements and Prospects of School Physical Education in China in the New Era-Learning and Conveying the Spirit of Director Wang Dengfeng’s Speech at the 2019 Chairman’s Meeting of the Teaching Committee”.
