On the morning of January 16th, the signing ceremony of “Xiaojian Literature Award and Aid Fund” was held in the conference room school on the third floor of office building.Wang Jian, an alumnus of our schooland a famous writer , donated 11 million yuan to the school to set up the “Xiaojian Literature Award and Aid Fund”, and donated more than 4,000 personally collected books to support the development of school education and literature in Hainan Province.

Liao Hui, member of Provincial Political Consultative Conference and president of Yuansheng Lawyers Association, Afu, a well-known calligrapher and poet, Lin Qiang, president of our school, Zhang Tianzhu, chairman of the School Education Development Foundation, Professor Shan Zhengping, former vice chairman of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Professor Ruan Zhong, former dean of the College of Liberal Arts of our school, attended the signing ceremony.

At the beginning of the meeting, the person in charge of the provincial and ministerial co-construction office introduced Wang Jian’s personal profile and introduced Wang Jian’s contribution to the development of Hainan literature and our school in detail.

Wang Jian, the donor of Xiaojian Literature Award and Aid Fund, gave a speech. He introduced his life course from Tangshan, Tianjin and Beijing to work and live in Hainan Normal University, and described his love for literature, as well as his literary creation process and achievements.His literary works include poems, essays and screenwriters, which show his love for Hainan and literature from many perspectives.Wang Jian said with deep affection that it is difficult to write by himself when he is old, but he still wants to do something meaningful in his later years and contribute to the development of Hainan’s literature. Therefore, he decided to donate a little income from his usual frugality and keyboard typing work, and set up a literary award and aid fund to encourage the majority of literary lovers to create better works and contribute to the development of Hainan’s culture.

Liao Hui introduced her deep friendship with Wang Jian for many years.He pointed out that it is a great thing for Wang Jian to donate his own assets and set up a literary award and aid fund, which reflects Wang Jian’s noble feelings. This kind of behavior is a love for HNU, Hainan, including friends, and reflects a kind of cultural inheritance.Culture and education need to be inherited. It is very valuable for Wang Jian to donate his property to the development of literature.Therefore, as a friend, it is a great honor to come here today to witness this significant historical event.

Zhang Tianzhu introduced the work and operation of the School Education Development Foundation, and thanked Wang Jian for his support to the school’s literature and education.Professor Ruan Zhong made a speech from Wang Jian’s personal creation and thinking about literature.Professor Wang Xuezhen of College of Liberal Arts introduced to Wang Jian the development of literature education in our school and the future development of literature discipline.

Finally, President Lin Qiang concluded that Mr. Wang Jian, in the spirit of contributing to the society and out of his love for literature and naval masters, generously donated all his movable and immovable property totaling 11 million yuan to set up “Xiaojian Literature Award and Aid Fund” and donated more than 4,000 books to the school library to promote the development of literature in Hainan Province and the development of education in our school. This action is a feat.It is a milestone in the history of school development, which will inspire generations of young literature lovers to create, and will greatly boost the literature education of Hainan Normal University and the development of Hainan literature.As the president, he felt honored to have such outstanding alumni and writers with noble feelings.On behalf of all the teachers, students and staff of the school, he expressed his heartfelt thanks and lofty respect to Mr Wang Jian for his righteous act.

On behalf of the school, Lin Qiang promised that with Mr. Wang Jian entrusting the “Xiaojian Literature Award and Aid Fund” to HNU, and HNU has a profound historical and cultural background and a solid humanistic foundation. HNU has the ability to perfect this fund activity, which will definitely make Mr. Wang Jian’s wishes well realized and make the “Xiaojian Literature Award and Aid Fund” play its due social role.

Lin Qiang also pointed out that Mr. Wang Jian’s feat is a positive energy worthy of publicity, which requires the school propaganda department to publicize in the whole school and even the whole society.

After the meeting, Lin Qiang signed a contract with Wang Jian on behalf of the school.
