At present, comprehensive prevention and control of novel coronavirus has entered a critical period.Facing the severe epidemic situation, the Youth League Committee actively organized volunteers fromhome-returned college studentsto participate in the prevention and control of epidemic situation in their hometown. More than 100 Home-returned college students from 28 provinces in our school joined the front line of epidemic situation prevention and control, contributed to the prevention and control of epidemic situation in their hometown, and demonstrated the responsibility of contemporary college students and the dedication of patriotism and love for their hometown in the fight against epidemic.

Home-returnedcollege students in our school participate in all aspects of epidemic prevention and control in their hometown, actively carry out voluntary service activities such as registration inspection, village attendance, epidemic popularization, prevention and control propaganda, etc., guide villagers not to believe in rumours, strengthen their awareness and ability of self-protection, do a good job of stabilizing people’s hearts with professional knowledge, practice the volunteer service spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance and progress”, give full play to the vanguard and exemplary role of volunteers, and resolutely fight to win the epidemic prevention and control war.

Meng Yidan is a student fromSchool of Economics and Management of our school. During the critical period of the prevention and control of pneumonia in novel coronavirus, Meng Yidan resolutely devoted himself to the volunteer service of epidemic prevention in Huaishe Township, Lingshui County, Hainan Province.He said, “I also want to contribute my strength to my hometown.”He joined Taoyuan Village Committee under the guidance of Huaishe, Lingshui County, Hainan Province, and volunteered to measure body temperature, and counted the registration of people coming and going at the old intersection of Taoyuan Village.

Xie Hanyu, a college student majoring in ideological and political education in 2017, organized and mobilized young volunteers to stand guard in the village to inspect vehicles and personnel. She signed up excitedly.“Someone has to go,” she said.On the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, Lantern Festival was her first duty as a volunteer. Even though she wore thick clothes, she was still cold by the wind in the north. She took up her post at 8: 00 a.m. and finished her epidemic prevention work at 7: 00 p.m..She said: “I am honored to be one of the tens of millions of volunteers in this epidemic.”

Zhang Meina, a freshman of College of Liberal Arts, is also an epidemic prevention volunteer in Baiyinnuoer Lead-zinc Mine, Balin Zuoqi, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. He controls the entrance and exit of people in the community and checks whether people in the street wear masks, thus contributing to the prevention of epidemic situation.

“A few days ago, when the village party committee called on the village party members to join the epidemic prevention task force, as a probationary party member and a young college student, I joined the volunteer service team in our village without hesitation, contributing my own strength to the epidemic prevention in our village.I believe that as long as everyone works together, we will eventually overcome the epidemic.”Jiang Pan, a 2017 class student at the School of Economics and Management, said this.Since joining the volunteer service team, we have gone deep into villagers’ homes with other volunteers to measure their body temperature, publicize the knowledge of epidemic prevention, and warn everyone to do a good job of defense during the epidemic.

Xiao Xiao, a fresh graduate student of the School of Physical Education who joined the Blue Sky Rescue Team as early as the postgraduate entrance examination, resolutely went to the forefront of fighting the epidemic at the end of January 2020, and contributed his own strength to the epidemic prevention work in his hometown of Henan. Every day, he was busy with epidemic prevention propaganda, virus elimination, material distribution and safety guarantee from 7: 00 am to 11: 00 pm.

This group of HNU students, who come from different groups of people, have the same initial intention of volunteering in different areas, and write the chapter of volunteering in the name of youth.Even if the night is long, it can’t stop the dawn. In this battle of epidemic prevention and control, they used their actions to light up the light of volunteer service and pay tribute to every ordinary volunteer who is not afraid of difficulties.
