On the afternoon of March 6th, our school held a special meeting of the Party Committee on the global talent introduction work plan of “I contribute to the free trade port” online and offline.All members of the school leadership team and the heads of relevant units attended the on-site meeting in the conference room on the third floor, while the principals of teaching and auxiliary units of other organs, deans and secretaries of various colleges attended the meeting online by video.

Party Secretary Li Hongmei presided over the meeting.

Vice President Shi Haitao briefly summarized the talent work of the school in 2019 and deployed the talent work in 2020. He pointed out that the school will do a good job in talent work in 2020 from seven aspects. First, combine the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port to plan the school’s 14th Five-Year Plan for Talent Development; Second, comprehensively revise the rules and regulations of talent work; Third, optimize the talent management mechanism at the two levels of schools and colleges; Fourth, make every effort to carry out the global talent introduction work of schools;Fifth, further promote the construction of talent team and implement the youth talent development plan; Sixth, solidly promote the construction of “two stations”;Seventh, vigorously support the construction of national key School of Marxism .

Subsequently, the relevant person in charge of the Personnel Department gave a detailed explanation on the Work Plan of Hainan Normal University on “I Contribute to the Free Trade Port”. Representatives of six secretaries and deans, including the School of Marxism and the School of Education, made exchange speeches on the work experience of introducing talents and cooperating with foreign countries in running schools.

Lin Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President, made arrangements for the internationalization of the school from the perspective of highlighting the characteristics of running a school. First, do a good job in building international talents; second, do a good job in internationalization; and third, do a good job in building internationalization conditions. Lin Qiang put forward the requirements for the construction of international talents. First, pay full attention to the introduction of international talents; Second, do a good job in planning the development of overseas talents and vigorously introduce overseas talents; Third, we should think about how to introduce international talents, seize the favorable opportunity of the provincial free trade port construction, give full play to the advantages of schools, overcome shortcomings, increase publicity, and focus on four aspects: overseas talent discovery, talents with overseas experience, overseas training of young teachers and introduction of foreign teachers. Fourth, schools should study and formulate relevant systems and come up with more attractive policies.

Li Hongmei made important instructions on talent work in schools. She said that the special meeting on talent work in schools was held in a timely manner. We should make full use of the opportunity of attracting talents from all over the world in Hainan Province, face up to the shortage of talent work in schools, make a good plan for talent development in schools during the 14th Five-Year Plan and fully introduce international talents. She stressed: First, we must raise our awareness that talents are the first resource and seize the opportunity of building a free trade port. Second, we must strengthen policy study, and learn deeply and thoroughly the provincial documents on talent work. Third, we must make good use of the opportunity of attracting talents from all over the world in our province, and formulate the development plan of talents in the 14th Five-Year Plan, which is suitable for the construction of free trade port. She hopes that everyone will take “attracting talents, gathering talents, cultivating talents and using talents” as the general starting point to promote the rapid development of school undertakings, broaden the channels of talents, optimize the team structure, constantly improve the mechanism of training and using talents, and create a good environment for people to make the best use of their talents.
