The wind is crisp and the sun is shining. The campus of Hainan Normal University is full of colorful flags and crowds, and it is a lively and jubilant scene. On the occasion of the 45th World Football Day, when the “World Cup” was in full swing, on the morning of December 9th, our school held the inaugural meeting of the Football Academy in the Student Activity Center of Guilinyang campus. The construction of Hainan Normal University Football Academyis an important measure to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on football reform and development, and to implement the instructions of Vice Premier Sun Chunlan when she inspected Qiongzhong women’s football team. It is the first college’sfootball academyin Hainan Province.

Hao Fenglin, first-class inspector of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Ministry of Education; Zhang Huawei, deputy secretary-general of Hainan Provincial People’s Government; Xing Kongzheng, deputy director of the Education Department; Yang Xinli, deputy director of the Tourism Department; Feng Yan, second-class inspector of the National Development and Reform Commission; Xu Simao, second-class inspector of the Finance Department; Xie Xiaoping, deputy director of Haikou Tourism Bureau; Xiao Shan, executive director of the Chinese Football Association, director of Qiongzhong Women’s Football Management Center, head coach of Qiongzhong Women’s Football Association; and Lv Jianhai, chairman of Provincial Football Association ; Cai Mingyang, sports business development director of Mission Hills Group (China Southern Football Training Base);leaders of the provincial editorial office, the provincial people’s social welfare department and Qiongzhong Women’s Football Management Center; Chen Peijie, president of Shanghai Institute of Physical Education; Yang Ling, deputy secretaryof Shanghai Institute of Physical Education; Fu Guohua, vice president of Hainan University; Ma Zhijian ,vice president of Hainan Medical College;Li Kai ,vice president of Qiongtai Normal College; Li Kai, vice president of Hainan Sports Vocational and Technical College, and representatives of other brother universities and members of the party and government team of HNU, includingGuo Jianchun, Xu Mei, Chen Xianfeng, Yang Ziju, Han Shangfeng, Wang Yu, Liu Rubing, Bai Xianliang, Wang Renbin, Huang Yijun and representatives of teachers and students attended the conference.

Xu Mei, deputy secretary of the school Party Committee (presiding over the work of the Party Committee), presided over the meeting.

The conference kicked off in the wonderful dragon and lion dance performance of the Institute of Physical Education. The distinctive theme sand painting of TeacherHe Sudan in our school described the initial intention and vision of establishing a football academy. The beautiful picture brought extraordinary shock to the participants against the beautiful melody.

President Guo Jianchun first delivered a speech. She pointed out that the establishment of the Football Academy is a strategic measure for the school to further open its schools and vigorously promote the reform and innovation of the personnel training system and mechanism, which is a milestone in the history of school development. This year, the Football Academy has completed its first enrollment. In the future, it will seize the great opportunity of building a free trade port in Hainan, actively introduce high-quality educational resources and management experience at home and abroad, gradually increase enrollment majors, build an “integrated” football elite talent training mechanism, strive to reach a school scale of 1,200-1,500 students in five years, and strive to build a modern Hainan international football academy with international influence in line with the national football development strategy.

Hao Fenglin, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, spoke highly of the establishment and construction of a football academy in our school, pointing out that the establishment of a football academy in our school is an excellent sample for all levels of government departments and universities to make concerted efforts to develop the football cause with the integration of sports and education. He hoped that the football academy would play an important role in personnel training, scientific research, cultural exchanges and social services in the future, cultivate high-level teachers and excellent football competitive talents for the Qiongzhong women’s football team and even the national campus football, and play a leading role in promoting the local campus football cause and education. Hao Fenglin also encouraged the students in the Football Academy to have fun, improve their personality and temper their will, and become all-round footballers in the new era!

On behalf of Hainan Provincial People’s Government and Vice Governor Wang Lu, Zhang Huawei congratulated the establishment of the Football Academy. He pointed out that the construction of the Football Academy of Hainan Normal University is an important measure to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and the Spirit of the 20th National Congress of CPC on developing football. It took less than a year for the Football Academy to be formally established, which reflected the determination, confidence and perseverance of all levels of departments in Hainan Province and Hainan Normal University to actively promote the implementation of the national and provincial football development strategies, and also reflected the spirit and speed of Hainan. It is hoped that the Football Academy will focus on the goal of building a first-class international football academy based in Hainan, radiating the whole country and facing the world, based on talent training, carrying out scientific research, strengthening exchanges between China and foreign countries, and doing a good job in social services, so as to build a cradle and temple for football talent training that is well-known at home and abroad.

Subsequently, Xing Kongzheng, deputy director of Hainan Provincial Department of Education, and Yang Xinli, deputy director of Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism and Culture, delivered speeches respectively, expressing warm congratulations and ardent expectations for the establishment of our football academy, and expressing their full support for its development. It is hoped that the Football Academy of Hainan Normal University will carry out the fundamental task of cultivating people by virtue, strive to cultivate students’ patriotism, collectivism and the will to strive for progress and tenacious struggle, and make the Football Academy another sports brand in Hainan football field after Qiongzhong Women’s Football Team.

After the speeches of the leaders, the signing ceremony of Shanghai Institute of Physical Education’s aid to Hainan Normal University was held. President Chen Peijie of Shanghai Institute of Physical Education and President Guo Jianchun of Hainan Normal University signed an agreement for Shanghai Institute of Physical Education to build Hainan Normal University Football Academyunder the witness of all the guests. Yang Ling, deputy secretary of Shanghai Institute of Physical Education, delivered a speech, congratulating the establishment of the Football Academy on behalf of Shanghai Institute of Physical Education, and said that we should give full play to our respective advantages, jointly explore the road of innovative development of football and jointly build a first-class college.

After signing the agreement, Li Qing, a freshman of the Football Academy, spoke on behalf of the first students, expressing his joy of entering the Football Academy. He said that he would stick to his passion and love for football, pay equal attention to cultural education and professional training, and become a football talent with all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor.

Finally, leaders and guests such as Xing Kongzheng, Yang Xinli, Feng Yan, Xu Simao, Lu Jianhai, Guo Jianchun and Xu Mei unveiled the football academy of Hainan Normal University, which pushed the whole activity to a climax.

Xu Mei said that the Football Academy was established under the great attention and care of the provincial party committee and government. The school will always study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of instructions on football reform, implement the requirements of the provincial government’s “Work Plan for Women’s Football in Qiongzhong”, adhere to the concept of “cultivating football talents and helping sports powers”, and strive to cultivate high-quality football talents for the country, and make contributions to Hainan’s sports development and sports powers.
