On the afternoon of January 3rd, according to the study plan of the Spirit of the 20th National Congress of CPC in our school, HNU held an (expanded) study meeting of the Party Committee’s theoretical study center group in the conference room on the third floor of the first office building in Longkun South campus. The study topics were “deeply understanding the mission and tasks of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the new era and new journey” and “deeply understanding and accelerating the construction of a new development pattern and striving to promote high-quality development”.

Xu Mei, Chen Xianfeng, Yang Ziju, Han Shangfeng (online), Wang Yu (online), Liu Rubing, Bai Xianliang, Wang Renbin, Huang Yijun and President Guo Jianchun (online) attended the meeting, and the heads of relevant functional departments attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Xu Mei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our school (presiding over the work of the Party Committee).

At the meeting, Professor Guo Genshan of School of Marxism gave a study guidance entitled “deeply understanding the mission and tasks of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the new era and new journey”. He went from “three aspects of the relationship between the central task of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the new era and the theme of the conference; The basic content of Chinese modernization; strategic arrangements for promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation”and vividly explained the basic connotation of the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s mission and task in the new era and new journey.

Chen Xianfeng, the vice president, gave a study tutorial entitled “Accelerating the construction of a new development pattern and focusing on promoting high-quality development”. He gave a tutorial with rich connotations, detailed data and clear views from the aspects of “Why to propose high-quality development, what is high-quality development and how to promote high-quality development”, and also made good suggestions on how to promote high-quality development of the school.

The leaders of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee, the Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Center for Development Planning and Discipline Construction, and the Asset Management Co., Ltd. shared their learning experiences on the subject learning content in combination with the actual work.

Xu Mei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our school (presiding over the work of the Party Committee), put forward three requirements in combination with the study content: First, profoundly understand the mission and task of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the new era and new journey. Focus on understanding the historical background, China characteristics, essential requirements, major principles and strategic deployment of the Communist Party of China (CPC)'s mission and task in the new era and new journey. The second is to deeply understand the spiritual connotation of accelerating the construction of a new development pattern and focusing on promoting high-quality development. Third, all secondary party organizations and departments should quickly convey the spirit of the meeting and earnestly learn and understand the Spirit of the 20th National Congress of CPC. All cadres in party member should grasp the implementation of the new bureau, stand at the height of the overall strategic situation of contributing to the realization of the mission and task of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the new era and new journey, and build a socialist modern country in an all-round way, so as to promote the high-quality development of the school. Fourth, persist in guiding the high-quality development of the school in the new era with the Spirit of the 20th National Congress of CPC. We must persist in high-quality implementation of the fundamental task of establishing moral values and educating people; Adhere to the high-quality service of Hainan’s basic education, continue to serve and help Hainan’s basic education and revitalize teacher education; Adhere to high-level scientific research to help science and technology stand on its own feet; Insist on improving campus infrastructure construction; Adhere to the high-level talent team to shape new development momentum and new advantages; Adhere to high quality and expand opening-up cooperation, seize the opportunity of building an international educational innovation island, promote national exchanges and cooperation in running schools, and create a window for the spread of Chinese culture.

Xu Mei hopes that the teachers and students of the whole school will work hard in one place in the new year to build a high-level normal university with distinctive characteristics, first-class domestic and internationally renowned, and to train and transport high-quality new people who are worthy of national rejuvenation for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.
