To further improve network security and informatization work and ensure practical implementation of the responsibility system for network security, Hainan Normal University (HNNU) held a meeting on network security and informatization work of the first quarter of 2023 at the conference room of the third floor of Longkunnan campus on March 28th. Chaired by Wang Yu, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of HNNU, the meeting was attended by Xu Mei, Secretary of the Party Committee of HNNU, Huang Yijun, Member of the Party Committee of HNNU and Head of the United Front Work Department, members of the network security and informatization leading group, heads of relevant department, and secretaries of the Party committee of second-level schools of HNNU.

At the meeting, the person in charge of the Information Network and Data Center reported the network security and informatization construction of last year and the key points of work in 2023, and the head of the propaganda department shared the working experience of handling network public opinion. The expert group of the Office of the Network Security and Informatization leading group, the School of Journalism, Communication, Film and Television, the School of Information Science and Technology, and the Youth League Committee exchanged views on how to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on network security work and do a good job in network security work of HNNU.

Wang Yu summarized and evaluated the work of departments.

Xu Mei said, that to do a good job in network security and informatization work, the departments should build a strong ideological defense line, and seriously study and comprehend the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on network security work. The departments also need to raise political stances, have a deep understanding of the importance of network security, expand mainstream public opinion, and highlight that networks should spread positive energy, be manageable, and be used appropriately. HNNU should comprehensively identify current problems in network security and informatization construction, enhance teachers’ and students' awareness of network security, learn relevant knowledge of network security, and tighten the string of campus public opinion. HNNU should also strengthen responsibility and organizational leadership, establish lifecycle management awareness of network security, enhance publicity work of network security and technical protection, and intensify emergency management of network public opinion, thus ensuring the network security of HNNU.

Xu Mei emphasized that members of each party and government leadership at the second level should study and comprehend the important thoughts of General Secretary Xi Jinping on network powerhouse in-depth, make meticulous preparation, and do work in a practical, elaborate, and effective way so that they can jointly contribute to the building of a harmonious and safe campus.
