On the morning of April 4th, Hainan Normal University (HNNU) held a special meeting on intercollegiate cooperation and exchange at the conference hall of the alumni home (on the second floor of the library) in the Longkunnan campus. The meeting was chaired by Chen Xianfeng, Vice President, and was attended by the heads of relevant functional departments and deans of relevant colleges.

The meeting focused on strategic cooperation between HNNU and other five universities, including Beijing Normal University. Chen Xianfeng listened to the work reports of various units on intercollegiate cooperation and collectively discussed intercollegiate differences and features and a win-win mechanism with complementary advantages.

Chen Xianfeng held that the Party Committee of HNNU attached great importance to deep-level cooperation with well-known universities in China. In recent years, HNNU has continuously expanded the scope of intercollegiate cooperation and established and improved relevant working mechanisms. Chen gave full recognition to the good results of the cooperation. In response to the problems and difficulties encountered during the cooperation, he suggested that first, each unit should seize the opportunity to take the initiative and flexibly use a "top-down" or "bottom-up" approach to promote intercollegiate interaction and implement the cooperation; second, based on the improvement of its own connotation construction, HNNU should fully tap into its unique advantages and increase its external attractiveness, considering the regional environment and relevant policies of Hainan Free Trade Port; third, HNNU should gradually build a normalized work pattern of various departments, colleges, or teams jointly participating through intercollegiate cooperation platforms; fourth, HNNU should collaborate with leading units to consolidate the achievements of cooperation and actively optimize the allocation of its internal and external resources, thus producing synergistic effects to promote its rapid development and jointly improve the overall level of education.

The attendees conducted in-depth discussions on various aspects including talent cultivation, subject construction, scientific research projects, talent introduction, and academic exchanges among these universities based on their actual work. The heads and representatives of the Party and Government Office, Graduate Department, Development Planning and Disciplinary Construction Center, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Academy of Science and Technology, affiliated high schools, and relevant colleges of HNNU attended the meeting.
