From May 4th to 5th, Xu Mei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hainan Normal University, with her delegation went to Beijing, visiting the Ministry of Education, China Education Association for International Exchange, Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center, Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Center and other units to seek guidance and support for the development of Hainan Normal University.

On the afternoon of the 4th, Xu Mei and his delegation met with Liu Limin, president of the China Education Association for International Exchange. Introducing our previous work and development plan about talent cultivation in international Chinese education, Xu Mei expressed active expectations of exchanges and cooperation with the association and the willingness to enhance the international education exchange of our school. Liu Limin affirmed the achievements made by Hainan Normal University in pedagogical education and international Chinese education. He reckoned that the association will help our school to introduce high-quality education resources, further improving international cooperation, and enhancing the construction of Hainan International Education Innovation Island.

On the morning of the 5th, Xu Mei and his delegation met with Hu Zhiping, deputy director of the Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education. Xu Mei expounded on our working schedule for developing foreign Chinese education and sought the support of the Language Exchange and Cooperation Center to improve international Chinese education. Hu Zhiping affirmed our school's achievements in foreign Chinese education and the construction of a Chinese language promotion base in Southeast Asia, and he said that the Language Exchange and Cooperation Center supports our school in carrying out relevant work, enhancing the development of international Chinese education in the context of a free trade port.

On the afternoon of May 5th, Xu Mei and her delegation met with Du Kewei, director of the Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education. She introduced our basic situation of talent cultivation and discipline construction and exchanged views on the work plan and prospect of building the first Research Institute about Sino-Foreign Faculty's Ability on Cultural Exchange, as well as other matters of deepening cooperation. Du Kewei discussed in detail the specific connotation of cultural exchange, introduced specific activities and projects currently carried out by the Language Exchange and Cooperation Center, and expressed gratitude to the school for selecting Teacher Li Yang to take a temporary post in the center. He reckoned that the center will support our school to participate in various projects, which promote the construction of the Research Institute of Faculty's ability on Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange (as a base), further improving cultural exchange in the school in the context of a free trade port.

During her stay in Beijing, Xu Mei and her delegation also met with some department and bureau leaders of the Ministry of Education, acquiring their guidance on talent cultivation and discipline construction of Hainan Normal University.

Han Shangfeng, Vice President of Hainan Normal University, Tang Zhenfu, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of the Education Department of Hainan Province, and the Dean of the Graduate School of our University as well as the School of International Education accompanied them. Relevant officials from the Ministry of Education, China Education Association for International Exchange, Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center, Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Center, and other institutions attended the meeting.
