From July 7th to 9th, the High-end Forum of Robot Intelligence and the 2023 Annual Conference of the Robot Intelligence Special Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation was held in Sanya. Xie Jing, Vice Governor of Hainan Province and Director of the Provincial Science and Technology Department, and Guo Jianchun, President of Hainan Normal University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The conference was presided over by Xu Mei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hainan Normal University.

With the Robot Intelligence Special Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation sponsoring the conference, Hainan Normal University and UBTECH ROBOTICS CORP organized it. The forum witnessed an opening ceremony, a main forum for humanoid robots, a sub-forum for intelligent perception and learning of robots, and brain-like intelligence. 151 domestic experts, scholars, and industry elites in the field of robotics, together with 20 teachers and students from the Key Laboratory of Data Science and Smart Education of the Ministry of Education and the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Hainan Normal University attended the conference.

Focusing on cutting-edge development of robot intelligence, the forum is committed to exploring innovative development and discusses the latest progress and future challenges in this field. Qiao Hong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of the National Key Laboratory of Multimodal Artificial Intelligence System of the Automation Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Jiang Lei, a researcher at the Zhongbing Intelligent Innovation Research Institute, delivered 14 fabulous keynote speeches. Among them, there are mutual discussions and mutual exchanges, with participants sharing the latest research results in the field of robotics.

The forum provides a platform for Chinese scholars to learn about robot intelligence and exchange results, and it improves the interdisciplinary frontier research of robot intelligence through extensive study, promoting the technological development and industrialization of robot intelligence in China.

Reportedly, Hainan Normal University has innovated in cutting-edge research and actively got enhanced. Our university boasts the Key Laboratory of Data Science and Smart Education of the Ministry of Education and undergraduate majors such as artificial intelligence and automation. In particular, in recent years, students have won several national and provincial awards in various science and technology competitions, such as the China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition, the National College Students Mathematical Contest in Modeling, and the China "Internet +" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, demonstrating the new achievements of the school's education and tutoring. This forum has pointed out the direction for those who urgently needed discipline construction, such as artificial intelligence in the school, redoubling the effort to implement the plan for first-class academic improvement, and providing new ideas to build Hainan's “Science and Innovation Highland.” We will take this opportunity to promote the application of robot intelligence in education, ecological protection, marine development, and other fields, enhance the transformation of sci-tech achievements, and provide technological and intellectual support for the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
