On September 11th, the opening ceremonies for the 2023 freshmen of Hainan Normal University were held at the Longkunnan and Guilin Yang campuses, respectively. Members of the school's party and government team, including Xu Mei, Guo Jianchun, Chen Xianfeng, Yang Ziju, Han Shangfeng, Wang Yu, Liu Rubing, Han Xiaoyu, Bai Xianliang, and Huang Yijun, attended the opening ceremony. Alumni representatives, heads of various functional departments and colleges, as well as 5226 undergraduate freshmen, 1035 master's students, and 70 doctoral students from 2023, attended the ceremony.

The new student ceremony at Longkunnan Campus was presided over by Yang Ziju, a member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, while at Guilin Yang Campus, it was presided over by Bai Xianliang, a member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President.

The ceremony kicked off in a solemn atmosphere with the solemn national anthem. Professor Wang Xuezhen from the School of Literature and Professor Zu Li from the School of Mathematics and Statistics, as representatives of the teachers, welcomed all 2023 freshmen and hoped that they would establish lofty ideals, be down-to-earth, and continuously enrich their university life with persistent efforts, clear goals, and genuine love. They wished everyone academic success and a bright future.

Zhou Ying, a doctoral student from the School of Marxism, and Tan Zehai, a doctoral student from the School of Literature, delivered speeches as representatives of senior students. They recounted their learning and growth experiences in school, stated that academic pursuits require a passionate passion and a determined choice. After making a choice, one should also be grateful. They hoped that new students would cherish their youth, devote themselves to reading, integrate knowledge and practice, grow through experience, set lofty aspirations, and strive to become dreamers who live up to the proposition of the Hainan Free Trade Port era and the excellent academic tradition of Hainan Normal University. 

Chen Lei, a master's student from the School of Physical Education, and Chen Yuting, a master's student from the School of Teacher Education, gave speeches as representatives of new graduate students, put forward requirements for their future learning and lives. They encouraged all students to have lofty aspirations, embrace their country, respond to changes in the times, work hard and stand firm, integrate knowledge and action, and answer China's questions well.

Yin Zhaoming, an undergraduate student from the School of Journalism, Communication, Film, and Television, and Ding Heyu, an undergraduate student from the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering, delivered speeches as representatives of undergraduate freshmen. Yin Zhaoming called on all new students, whether in the process of pursuing academic pursuits or on the path of personal development, to face the unknown with a passion for exploration, to immerse themselves in the times, embrace the future, explore the unknown, and be full of interest. They should be innovators and pioneers in facing difficulties. Ding Heyu demanded himself by practicing the school motto of "advocating morality and learning, seeking truth and innovation", and encouraged all new students with the motto of "pursuing excellence, youth without regrets".

Pu Zhenxia, Vice Principal of Xiangou Siyuan Experimental School in Ding'an County, and Wen Zhenglong, Executive Vice President of Hainan Haishang Newspaper Group, delivered speeches as alumni representatives. Pu Zhenxia thanked her alma mater for her cultivation and solicitude and shared her inspirational experience of choosing to teach in a rural school after graduation, never forget her original intention in more than ten years of grassroots work, and win the title of "National Excellent Teacher". Wen Zhenglong recalled the beautiful campus time and hoped that his younger siblings would devote themselves to studying and live up to their youthful years.

At the ceremony, Xu Mei, the Secretary of the School Party Committee, wore the school emblem for the representatives of new students from various colleges and welcomed all 2023 freshmen to join the HNU family. 

Professor Guo Jianchun, the principal, delivered a speech expressing sincere hope for the new students. He hoped that students could shoulder their responsibilities bravely and enhance their ambition of "having me in a strong country." He also hoped that students could uphold integrity, innovate, and enhance the confidence of "being a strong country with me. He also hoped that students would be polite and honest and cultivate the righteousness of "having me in a strong  country." She expected her classmates to always strive towards the goal of being socialist builders and successors with comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. She hoped that everyone would continue to strive, strive, and accumulate and reap the fruitful results of the golden autumn at Hainan Normal University, create an infinite and brilliant future and write a wonderful chapter of "a strong country with me".

At the end of the ceremony, all teachers and students stood up and sang the "Hainan Normal University School Song". Amidst enthusiastic applause from all the teachers and students, the opening ceremony came to a successful conclusion.
