On the afternoon of September 8th, on the occasion of the 39th Teachers' Day, Feng Fei, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, gave a lecture on ideological and political education to representatives of teachers and students in universities across the province, titled "Stimulating Youth Vitality, Answering Youth Answers Well, and Effectively Carrying the Youth Responsibility of Free Trade Port Construction". Provincial leaders Xie Jing and Luo Qingming attended. Our school has set up a sub-venue in the lecture hall on the second floor of Tianjiabing on the Longkunnan Campus. Members of the school's party and government team, Xu Mei, Guo Jianchun, Chen Xianfeng, Yang Ziju, Han Shangfeng, Wang Yu, Liu Rubing, Han Xiaoyu, Bai Xianliang, and Huang Yijun, as well as ideological and political teachers and student representatives, watched through live streaming.

Feng Fei focused on studying and implementing Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era. Combined with the background, current situation, and future of free trade port construction, focused on the role of free trade ports with Chinese characteristics in responding to unprecedented changes in a century, the positive results achieved in the construction of free trade ports with Chinese characteristics, and how Hainan can better achieve high-quality development in the coming period, emphasis will be placed on how young college students can showcase their youthful demeanor in the construction of free trade ports.

Feng Fei pointed out that the reason why our party has been able to achieve great victories and brilliant achievements in revolution, construction, and reform for more than 100 years was because our party adheres to Marxism as the guide, accurately judges and grasps the situation, formulates practical goals, tasks, policies, and strategies, and leads the people to overcome one difficulty after another on the way forward, achieving one victory after another. Especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has led the entire party, the entire army, and the people of all ethnic groups to face difficulties and forge ahead, promoting historic achievements and changes in the cause of the party and the country. We achieved the first centenary goal and embarked on a new journey towards the second centenary goal. We firmly believe that under the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era, we can also achieve victory in coping with major changes unseen in a century, achieving the second centenary goal and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. 

Feng Fei stated that the growth period and struggle period of all students were highly aligned with the time course of the construction of a free trade port, which was both timely and carries heavy responsibilities. He hoped that everyone could establish lofty aspirations, strengthen the Party's innovative theoretical arm, and consciously integrate their life ideals into the great cause of national prosperity and national rejuvenation; cherish time like gold in learning, seek true knowledge, develop true skills, and truly become a new force in the construction of free trade ports; always maintain vitality, unleash passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, and bravely become the trendsetter of the times; and be a firm believer, active communicator, and exemplary practitioner of the core socialist values. Teachers should strictly cultivate their professional ethics, improve their work style, love their work, be willing to contribute, and implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating talents. All universities in the province should adhere to the correct political direction of education, coordinate and promote the construction of advantageous and characteristic subject groups, comprehensively improve teaching level, scientific research ability, and talent training quality, and make greater contributions to the cultivation of more talents in Hainan.

 

After the ideological and political course, Xu Mei pointed out that all teachers in the school should deeply study and implement the teaching spirit of Secretary Feng Fei, attach importance to the education and teaching of ideological and political courses in universities, adhere to the unity of theory and practice, attach importance to the practicality of ideological and political courses, and deepen students' understanding and comprehension of the teaching content of ideological and political courses in universities through practice.
