On the afternoon of September 9th, our school held the 39th Teachers' Day celebration conference at the Tian Jiabing Lecture Hall of Longkunnan Campus, Hainan Normal University, to recognize various outstanding teachers, educators, and advanced models in various fields of our school.

Xu Mei, Secretary of the School Party Committee, Guo Jianchun, President, Chen Xianfeng, Yang Ziju, Han Shangfeng, and Wang Yu, Vice President and Member of the School Party Committee Standing Committee, Liu Rubing, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission; Vice President Han Xiaoyu, Member of the School Party Committee Standing Committee; and Vice President Bai Xianliang; Wang Renbin, Member of the School Party Committee Standing Committee and Minister of Organization Department; and Huang Yijun, Minister of United Front Work Department, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Xu Mei.

At the meeting, all participants watched a video of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s inspection of Harbin Engineering teachers in 2023, a video of Teacher's Day-themed sand paintings created by Teacher He Sudan, and watched programs such as a poem recitation by the College Student Art Troupe to bless Teachers' Day and a singing of representative songs by young teachers. Members of the school's party and government team presented awards and flowers to provincial and above honorary and talent title awarding personnel, national education and teaching achievement award winners, national first-class course project leaders, outstanding guidance teachers for national college student competitions, and outstanding individuals in rural revitalization and anti-epidemic services. They also presented flowers and retirement souvenirs to 10 representatives of retired teachers.

Wang Xuezhen, Dean of the School of Literature, led the newly hired faculty members in 2023 to take the oath, and nine typical teacher representatives and one retired teacher representative made exchange speeches.

Guo Jianchun stated that in the past year, with the joint efforts of everyone, our school has made new and gratifying progress in various undertakings. We have successfully held the second Party Congress and sounded the rallying call for building a high-level normal university with distinctive characteristics that was first-class domestically and internationally renowned. She put forward three requirements for all teachers and students: first, to adhere to the original intention of educating students and help them grow and become talented. As a teacher, you must always arm yourselves with the innovative theory of the party, analyze problems from the correct standpoint, viewpoint, and method, help college students establish the correct worldview, outlook on life, and values, and provide a continuous stream of new forces for realizing the great dream of national rejuvenation. The second is to persist in self-cultivation and morality and establish a good image as a teacher. We must establish lofty professional ideals and firm professional beliefs, be loyal to the party's educational cause, consciously strengthen teacher ethics, dedicate all our energy and sincerity to the educational cause, and turn noble sentiments and open-mindedness into practical actions. The third is to persist in refining skills and continuously improve work style and ability. The majority of teaching staff should humbly learn and refine and continuously improve their professional abilities and qualities; they must seriously improve teaching and continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation; efforts should be made to study academia and continuously improve the level of scientific research work in schools; they must continuously improve their work style; and the school will also strive to provide high-quality services for teachers and students' learning, work, and lives.

Xu Mei sent festive greetings to all faculty and staff and put forward three hopes for further accelerating the construction of a high-level normal university with distinctive characteristics, domestic first-class, and internationally renowned: firstly, to improve its position and bravely shoulder the mission of strengthening the country, province, and university. To build a strong country, we must first strengthen education, and to strengthen education, we must first strengthen teachers. Our teaching staff should assist in the construction of an education-strong country with the attitude of a fighter, accelerate the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port with the spirit of a contributor, and promote the high-quality development of schools as masters. We should be based on our positions, down-to-earth, uphold integrity and innovation, take responsibility, and contribute to the development of schools. The second is dedication—to be a good teacher who satisfies the party and the people. As teachers in the new era, we should maintain the sentiment and love of "being a teacher of the people, with supreme glory", with virtue, knowledge, action, and love. We should educate students with truth, words, and actions, influence them with truth, sincerity, and sincerity, and shape perfect souls for students with a heart of kindness. The third is to cultivate teacher ethics and make respecting teachers and valuing education the most beautiful trend on campus. Learning from high school as a teacher and being exemplary should become the most beautiful foundation of our campus culture.
