On the morning of October 23rd, a delegation led by Wu Xiaolin, President of the China University of Petroleum (Beijing), and Pu Junlin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, came to our school for investigation and discussion. Our school’s president, Chen Xiangsong, deputy secretary of the school party committee, Fu Liucai, member of the Standing Committee of the party committee, and vice president, Han Shangfeng, attended the symposium.

The research symposium was held in the conference room on the third floor of the first office building of Longkun South Campus and was chaired by Chen Xiangsong.

At the meeting, Wu Xiaolin briefly introduced the historical evolution and construction development of the China University of Petroleum (Beijing). She stated that the China University of Petroleum (Beijing) was a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. The university was born, thrived, and was strengthened by oil. Since its establishment, it has served national strategic needs and made positive contributions in the fields of petroleum and petrochemicals. It is hoped that the two schools would continue to deepen their communication and understanding,strengthen communication and cooperation in their respective strengths and characteristics, learn from each other, complement each other's strengths, and jointly promote the better development of the two schools.

Chen Xiangsong welcomed the visit of Wu Xiaolin and his delegation and briefly introduced the basic situation and future development goals of the school. Chen Xiangsong stated that since its establishment, Hainan Normal University has always adhered to the main responsibility of teacher education and made its own contribution to the development of basic education in Hainan. Next, the school will closely focus on the national strategic deployment of building a free trade port and the relevant deployment of the provincial party committee and government for the development and positioning of the school. It will strengthen reform and innovation in the school's institutional mechanisms, teacher education, and other aspects, and promote high-quality development in the school. Chen Xiangsong pointed out that Comrade Han Shangfeng, as a selected temporary cadre from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) as the Organization Department of the Central Committee, fully utilized the advantages and abilities of temporary cadres, conscientiously fulfilled their responsibilities and missions, actively provided advice and suggestions, and played an important role in the development process of various undertakings of the school. It is hoped that Comrade Han Shangfeng could serve as a "bridge" between the two schools for temporary training at our school, combine the advantages and characteristics of both sides to enhance communication and cooperation, and jointly promote the better development of the two schools.

Han Shangfeng expressed gratitude for the cultivation, care, and inclusiveness of Hainan Normal University during his tenure and stated that he will continue to care about the development and construction of Hainan Normal University and contribute his own efforts to its development.
