On October 26th, Professor Alistair Sambel, the Vice President of the University of Huddersfield in the UK, and a delegation of five visited our university. Bai Xianliang, a member of our school's Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President, met with British representatives and held talks in the conference room on the third floor of the administrative building of Longkunnan Campus.
At the meeting, Bai Xianliang expressed his sincere welcome to Alistair Sambel and his delegation and introduced the basic situation of Hainan, our school, and the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port. He stated that in the future, both sides could engage in deeper cooperation in areas such as student exchanges, teacher visits, scientific research cooperation, and Sino-French cooperation in education.
Alistair Sambel gave a detailed introduction to the history, geographical location, faculty and students, colleges, majors, foreign cooperation, and school rankings of the University of Huddersfield in the UK and expressed expectations for future cooperation between the two universities.
The leaders of the School of Music, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Primary Education, and School of Economics and Management had in-depth communication with British representatives on the situation of the college.
After the meeting, the British side learned about the teaching situation of the Conservatory of Music on site, observed the folk music classroom "Hope Colorful", group dance "Take You Home", Li ethnic pas de deux "Deer Turning Back", and choir classroom "Jiangchengzi.Mizhou Hunting", and conducted teaching exchanges.
In the afternoon, our school president, Chen Xiangsong, met with a delegation led by the University of Huddersfield in the conference room on the third floor of the Guilin Yang campus. He welcomed their visit and hoped that both sides could enhance understanding and seek cooperation in the future. After the meeting, the British side visited the laboratory of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
This was the first offline meeting between school leaders after the two schools signed the memorandum of inter-school cooperation. It was also an important node for the two schools to enhance comprehensive understanding and promote exchanges and cooperation.
