HNNU's Predecessor was established as Qiongtai Academy in the 44th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty(1705)

It was officiallyestablished as National Hainan Normal College in 1949

It was renamed Hainan Normal Specialised College in 1952

Hainan Normal College was organized with Hainan Education Collegein 1999

It was renamed Hainan Normal University in 2007
