The 5th International Chinese Language Education Think Tank Forum Held at Hainan Normal University

To promote innovation in the global international Chinese language education, enhance the quality of Chinese education, and advance the development of the discipline, the 5th International Chinese Language Education Think Tank Forum was held from October 12th to 13th at the Hainan Normal University. More than 130 experts and scholars from over 30 universities, including Beijing Language and Culture University, Nanjing University, Tianjin University, Guangzhou University, and Zhejiang Normal University, participated in the Conference.


Liu Bing, Director of the Policy Research Office of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, and Xu Mei, Party Secretary of Hainan Normal University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
Liu Bing emphasized that digital intelligence has become an important driving factor in the development of Chinese language education. He expressed hope that the experts and scholars would use this forum to engage in deep discussions, exchange ideas, and explore new paths for Chinese language education in the era of digital intelligence, advancing international Chinese language education to a higher level and promoting the mutual exchange and learning of languages and cultures. Xu Mei stated that with the accelerated integration of digitalization and intelligence, international Chinese language education has encountered new developmental opportunities. She hopes this forum will accumulate wisdom to explore new models for international Chinese language education and contribute to the flourishing development of Chinese language education.


With the theme of “Digital and Intelligent Development of the International Chinese Language Education”, the forum included nine keynote speeches and 24 parallel session presentations. Experts and scholars from various universities delivered speeches and engaged in discussions on the topic "How to Use Digital Intelligence in order to Promote the Internationalization and Modernization of Chinese Language Education".


Professor Ma Jianfei, Deputy Director of the National International Chinese Language Education Professional Degree Graduate Education Steering Committee, delivered a keynote report titled “Building a Chinese Learning System Based on Generative Artificial Intelligence”. He pointed out that digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence technology are key to the future development of international Chinese language education and proposed a vision for an intelligent Chinese learning system based on these foundations.


The forum was co-hosted by the Research Institute of International Chinese Language Education at Beijing Language and Culture University, the International Chinese Language Education Development Think Tank Consortium, and the International Education College at Hainan Normal University, with the latter serving as the organizer. The forum provided an important platform for communication on the digital and intelligent development of international Chinese language education and made a positive contribution on promoting Chinese culture and spreading China's voice. As digital and intelligent technologies continue to evolve, international Chinese language education will welcome broader development prospects and more diverse educational forms.
