At 8:00 a.m. on October 1st, Hainan Normal University held a solemn flag-raising ceremony at the track and field stadium of the Guilinyang Campus in order to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Attendees included leaders from the Student Affairs Department, student affairs staff from various colleges at the Guilinyang Campus, counselors, and student representatives. Together, they paid tribute to the great motherland and expressed their deep affection and best wishes for the country.
The ceremony was solemn and dignified. Members of the flag-raising guard, dressed in uniform, marched with sharp precision, escorting the bright red national flag to the flagpole. All faculty and students stood in orderly formation, respectfully watching the national flag rise slowly to the sound of the majestic national anthem. “Arise, ye who refuse to be slaves…” rang out as all faculty and students sang the national anthem in unison, their voices powerful and their hearts stirring with passion.
After the flag-raising, under the reflection of the national flag, Chen Haohao, a member of the Banyan Youth Lecture Group of Hainan Normal University, delivered a speech under the flag.She spoke with youthful enthusiasm, recounting the glorious journey of the founding of the People’s Republic of China all the while expressing bright hopes for the future. She sincerely wished for the nation’s enduring beauty and brilliant achievements.
Dong Huaiyan, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department and the People’s Armed Forces Department, used the government and university’s proactive response to the Super Typhoon Yagi, which safeguarded people’s lives and property, as an prime example. He encouraged the younger generation to cherish their currently fulfilled lives, live up to the expectations of the Party and the country, and strive courageously to contribute their youthful energy to the prosperity of the motherland.
The ceremony concluded with the stirring chorus of “Ode to the Motherland”. All faculty and students were in high spirits, their voices loud and clear as they sang with heartfelt emotion, expressing their deep love for their motherland and wishing for the nation’s prosperity and peace.
This flag-raising ceremony further ignited the patriotic passion of Hainan Normal University’s faculty and students, enhancing their sense of national pride and cohesion.
