On May 30th, after three days of intense competition, the 6th National College Golf Championship and National Sports Training Competition Union Golf Championship, guided by the Department of Science and Education of the General Administration of Sport of China and hosted by the National Sports Training Competition Union, concluded in Guilin, Guangxi. Hainan Normal University’s golf team (hereinafter referred to as “HNU Golf Team”) performed exceptionally well, sweeping three championship titles in the professional group, including the Mixed Team Championship, Men’s Team Championship, and Women’s Team Championship. Additionally, they secured the Men’s Individual Runner-Up and Women’s Individual Runner-Up. The team’s head coaches, Wang Xianfei and Song Chaoyang, were awarded the title of “Outstanding Coaches”, while team members Song Haoliang and Fang Zhenyue were recognized as “Outstanding Athletes”.
This year’s event attracted nearly 320 participants from 51 universities, including Peking University, Tongji University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and Shanghai University of Sport. In the team events, HNU Golf Team secured early victories after the first round, locking in the Mixed Team, Men’s Team, and Women’s Team championships. The competitions in the Men’s and Women’s Individual events were fierce. After three rounds and 54 holes of intense play, HNU Golf Team’s male player Bian Jianfan won the Men’s Individual Runner-Up, and female player Tian Huanxin won the Women’s Individual Runner-Up.
HNU Golf Team is composed of postgraduate students in sports and undergraduates majoring in Golf Sports and Management from the School of Physical Education at Hainan Normal University, with coaches Wang Xianfei and Song Chaoyang guiding the team throughout the preparation and competition.
