Recently, the 2024 Milan Design Week held its “China Week” event, where our School of Fine Arts was awarded the Best Organization Award of 2024 and the Best Original Ethnic Fashion Design Award of 2024.

The “China Week” event, themed “Century-old Chinese Streets and Exciting Chinese Trends”, featured nearly a hundred exhibitions, displays, and release activities, becoming a major highlight of the off-site exhibitions at the 2024 Milan Design Week. Our School of Fine Arts showcased part of the achievements from the design discipline, the Ministry of Education’s base for the inheritance of excellent traditional Chinese culture (Li brocade), as well as the project for building and operating a designer and design service platform for Li brocade, presenting a total of 45 designs, including 15 clothing items, 20 cultural and creative products, and 10 silk scarves. The designed projects deeply explored Li brocade culture, absorbed traditional Li brocade patterns and decorative styles, and innovatively incorporated fashion elements, demonstrating the modern vitality of traditional cultural arts.

These two awards reflect the social value of the School of Fine Arts and recognize its efforts over the years to strengthen the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional culture. Moving forward, the School of Fine Arts will continue to implement the Party and the nation’s spirit regarding the protection of intangible cultural heritage and the development of regional culture, contributing more to the inheritance and progression of excellent traditional culture and the construction and development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
