HNNU Holds Signing Ceremony for the First Batch of Experts at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences

On the morning of October 20th, our university held the signing ceremony for the first batch of experts at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences, appointing Professor Zhao Yanqiu and Professor Qi Zhixiang as members of the institute’s expert group. Yang Ziju, a standing member of the university’s Party Committee and Vice President, along with leaders from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Personnel Office, and the School of Literature, attended the signing ceremony.


During the ceremony, Yang Ziju warmly welcomed the two experts to Hainan Normal University’s research team on behalf of the university. He stated that this signing marks a new phase in the university’s research into the humanities and social sciences and is an important strategic and forward-looking initiative. The work of the Institute for Advanced Studies holds great significance for our efforts to build a top-tier normal university, innovate the scientific research system, and optimize the research environment. Relevant departments within the university should align with the overall plan for the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port, streamline processes, and create a more relaxed working environment for the experts, allowing them more time to lead their teams, produce results, and promote high-quality development in our research.


Professors Zhao Yanqiu and Qi Zhixiang shared their future academic goals, expressing their commitment to integrating their individual research within the development of Hainan Normal University. They pledged to work closely with the university, dedicating themselves fully to their responsibilities, striving to lead their teams, produce high-level research outcomes, and train excellent students, contributing their academic strength to the university’s growth.


The meeting highlighted that the Institute for Advanced Studies will continue to attract high-level experts from various disciplines both domestically and internationally, promoting the flourishing development of research in the humanities and social sciences at our university. The Personnel Office will leverage Hainan’s existing talent recruitment policies to fully support the work of the institute and provide strong backing for the newly signed experts in terms of talent acquisition and service. The School of Literature emphasized the importance of bringing in experts, recognizing their crucial role in advancing academic disciplines. They expressed hopes that the two professors would offer guidance in the school’s research efforts and collaborate on strengthening the construction of research teams within the disciplines.
