Recently, the Hainan Provincial Department of Education forwarded the “Notice from the General Office of the Ministry of Education on the Results of the Filing and Approval of Undergraduate Programs in Ordinary Higher Education Institutions for 2023” (Jiao Gao Han [2024] No. 6) and the “Notice from the Ministry of Education on the Filing of Applications for the Cancellation of Undergraduate Programs in Ordinary Higher Education Institutions for 2023” (Jiao Gao Han [2024] No. 7). Our university’s application for the Football Sports program (040214TK) has been successfully approved by the Ministry of Education, making us one of the first 30 universities in the country to offer this program, which is set to begin enrollment in 2025.Additionally, our programs in Public Administration, Product Design, and Internet of Things Engineering have also been approved for cancellation.
As of today, our university has a total of 65 undergraduate programs. They cover 10 disciplines, including Economics, Science, History, Management, Literature, Engineering, Art, Education, Agriculture, and Law. The successful approval of the Football Sports program, along with the cancellation of Public Administration, Product Design, and Internet of Things Engineering programs, marks a solid step forward in our university’s program development, which is of significant importance in optimizing the layout of academic disciplines. The university will adhere to the national standards for the quality of undergraduate programs, closely align with the educational development and the needs of Hainan Free Trade Port, and strengthen the connotation of the newly added programs to comprehensively improve the quality of talent cultivation.
