On the afternoon of June 28, Vice Governor Xie Jing of Hainan Province and his delegation visited our Guilinyang Campus to inspect the implementation of the “Measures to Support Hainan Normal University in Building a First-Class Normal University” (hereinafter referred to as "the Measures"). They also conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing construction of Phase II teaching and comprehensive buildings.
The symposium was held in the meeting room on the third floor of the First Public Building. At the meeting, Party Secretary Xu Mei provided a report on the university's efforts to implement the Measures. President Chen Xiangsong presented breakthroughs made by the university in disciplinary development and talent recruitment quality following the publication of the Measures. Other members of the university's Party and administrative leadership also delivered reports on their respective areas of responsibility. Xie Jing and his delegation had an in-depth discussion with the university leadership on current challenges in development, policy support, and other relevant topics.
Xie Jing emphasized that Hainan Normal University is in a golden period of its development and expressed hopes that the university would strengthen the collaborative leadership of its Party and administrative teams, deepen internal reforms, and stimulate internal motivation. He stressed the importance of optimizing disciplines, improving the training system for teachers, and reinforcing the university's identity as a normal school. Additionally, he urged improvements in talent team building with a focus on key disciplines, emphasized the importance of graduate employment, and encouraged greater support for basic education in Hainan Province.
After the meeting, Xie Jing and his delegation, accompanied by members of the university’s leadership, visited the ongoing Phase II teaching and comprehensive building projects at the Guilinyang Campus.
The inspection was attended by Li Hu, Director of the Hainan Provincial Department of Education; Ren Huaifeng, Deputy Director of the Provincial Office of Institutional Organization; Chen Xiaohua, Deputy Director of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission; as well as responsible officials from the Provincial Department of Finance, Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Haikou Municipal Government, Guilinyang Development Zone Management Committee, Jiangdong New Area Management Bureau, and Haikou Industrial Investment Group. Members of the university’s Party and administrative leadership team and relevant functional departments also participated in the inspection.
